UK Structural Systems were contacted by our customer Argent Energy to come up with a design for an Industrial Fire Escape staircase.
Our first step was to attend site to understand the customers needs and carry out a detailed survey. Our in house CAD team then came up with a Design that was sent to the client for approval before moving to Fabrication, Our Drawings include Plan Views, Elevations and 3D Views.
When the drawings are signed off by the client the next step was to move to Fabrication, Steelwork was then Galvanised to protect against corrosion, This is a maintenance free solution that will last for up to 50 years without corrosion. Access to the area and the logistics of the build was a challenge but the years of experience from our team meant we were able to come up with the correct solutions to complete the job in a safe and timely manner. The steel was erected using a Spider Crane with the team working from scissor lifts.
Concrete footings were installed at the bottom of the stair and also a path way leading to a safe area was created. At the top of the stair we created an opening in the cladding and installed a new fire door to give safe access on to the Staircase.
Customer was Delighted with the outcome.
